The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised Leverage 2026, a two-day stock market and finance fest, on 20th and 21st May 2026. Bringing together students from various colleges across the city, the fest featured eight unique events designed to test participants’ analytical thinking, decision-making, negotiation, and financial acumen.

The fest commenced with an opening ceremony in the Concept Hall, where the Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, formally inaugurated the event through a bell-ringing ceremony. Addressing the participants, he spoke about the importance of effectively leveraging both time and resources, encouraging students to view finance not merely as numbers but as a skill applicable to everyday life. The ceremony also recognised the efforts of the organising team and volunteers whose dedication made the event possible.

Over the course of two days, participants engaged in a variety of competitions that simulated real-world financial and economic scenarios. The three live trading events—Bullseye Breakout, The Raw Deal, and Buy Sell Boom—provided students with hands-on exposure to futures and options, commodity markets, and cash equity trading. Participants monitored market movements, executed trades, and managed virtual portfolios in an intraday trading environment, mirroring the pressures and challenges of actual financial markets.

One of the most engaging events was Hunt Big, Bid Big, which combined financial knowledge with problem-solving skills. Teams first tackled logical and financial puzzles before advancing to a strategic bidding round, where they managed virtual capital and responded to changing market conditions influenced by simulated economic developments.

The fest’s flagship event, Powerplay: The War Council, transformed participants into representatives of different nations tasked with managing resources, negotiating trade agreements, and building strategic alliances. Combining elements of economics, diplomacy, and critical thinking, the event challenged teams to balance national interests while adapting to changing global circumstances.

Another major attraction was the Battle of Companies, where participants analysed and defended leading corporations before a panel of judges and fellow competitors. Through presentations, discussions, and debates, students demonstrated their understanding of market positioning, investment potential, and corporate strategy. The event was judged by Mr Rohit Bhoot, a seasoned marketing professional with extensive industry experience.

Day two featured Market Wizard, a finance-based quiz competition that tested participants on stock market fundamentals, technical analysis, chart interpretation, and current economic developments. Pitch the Prospectus challenged teams to design and present convincing IPO proposals, requiring them to combine financial knowledge with presentation and persuasion skills. The event was udged by Mr Shivam Saha, a Chartered Accountant and finance professional.

The fest concluded with a closing ceremony in Jubilee Hall, where winners across the various events were felicitated by Prof. Dilip Shah. The organisers also expressed their gratitude to faculty members, judges, sponsors, volunteers, and participants for their invaluable contributions.
