‘The happiest people in the world are those who make others happy’ 

Lack of access to medicines causes a cascade of misery and suffering with no relief form the excruciating pain. Bridging this divide between availability and need, the NSS collective of the College has organised MED-DRIVE for an old age home, Tollygunge Homes 186, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Rd, Regent Park, Kolkata, West Bengal 700040. 

On December 20, 2021, three students representing NSS collective and the NSS coordinator visited Tollygunge Homes with a box full of medicines contributed by the students and faculty members of the College. The contributed medicine and essential items included:

  1. Hand Sanitizers-100 bottles
  2. Mebeverine Hydrochloride Modified Release Capsules- 20 (2 strips)
  3. Iron (Ferric Pyrophosphate)- 20 capsules (2 strips)
  4. Zincovit – 4strips
  5. Calpol- 6 strips
  6. P650- 10 strips
  7. Pyrigesic- 60 strips
  8. Cream Cracker Biscuits- 4 packets
  9. Antacid antigas chewable tablets- 3 strips
  10. ORS – 1 box 40 sachets
  11. Cotton- 1 box
  12. 1 crepe bandage
  13. Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Potassium Clavulante Tablets- 1 strip
  14. Bandaids and surgical gauze – 2 boxes
  15. Knee cap – 1
  16. 1 lactulose solution
  17. 1L Dettol 
  18. 60 ml Dettol
  19. 2 Odomos and 1 Boroline
  20. 3 handmade soap
  21. 2 seroflo 250 inhalers
  22. Alegra 180-1strip
  23. Calpol 650- 2 strips
  24. Saroglitazar Tablets-2strips
  25. Ciprofloxacin Eye drops IP-1 bottle
  26. Thyroxin Sodium Tablets-3 bottles
  27. Calcium and Vitamin D3 Tablets- 5strips
  28. Combiflame-10 tablets
  29. Lansoprazole Orally Disintegrating Tablets- 8 tablets
  30. Pacimol 650-1 strips
  31. Rabeprazole Sodium Enteric coated and domperidone Sustained Release Capules-9 Tablets
  32. Jaymol 650- 1strip
  33. Zofer-8 tablets

We thank the management of college, Prof. Dilip Shah for their constant support to conduct the entire project without any hassle. We also thank all the students and faculty members who came forward for this noble cause. Due to COVID safety protocols we could not take too many volunteers. Taking all the precautions, three students Harshita Joshi, Pragra Rakesha and Muskan Das visited the old age home. We appreciate their courage and commitment to serve the society.

It was our little effort to reflect the true motto of NSS “Not Me But You”.
